The tin may leak fuel due to a manufacturing defect.

What consumers should do

  1. Whilst handling a leaking tin, ensure you are wearing protective nitrile gloves, full length  clothing, boots and glasses/goggles for eye protection.

  2. Place the affected tin in a ventilated area away from all sources of ignition.

  3. Check whether one of the following dates is printed on the bottom of the tin

    1. 1 Litre tin dated: 28/02/25 or 15/05/25

    2. 4 Litre tin dated: 30/11/24 or 11/04/25 

  4. Check the tin for any signs of unexplained fuel leakage, such as green fluid seeping from the top or bottom seam, streaks of green fluid on the sides or bottom of the tin, or a ring of green fluid around the base of the tin.

  5. If you find any signs of leakage and one of the above dates is printed on the bottom of the tin, contact STIHL (see below) for assistance and details about a replacement tin or refund

 

SENCO F35XP Cordless 34-degree Nail Gun

Reason the product is recalled

The nail gun’s firmware may allow a nail to discharge through use of the trigger alone and not via the usual 2 step actuation process.

The hazards to consumers

There is a risk of serious injury if the nail gun discharges unintentionally.

  3. Contact Airco Brands Customer Service to arrange for your tool to be transported and repaired at no charge. Do not take your product back to the place of purchase.

STIHL BR 800 C-E Magnum petrol backpack blower

Reason the product is recalled

The fan wheel in affected units may fail, which could result in breakage. This may lead to fragments being ejected from the blower, posing a risk of injury to the operator or bystanders.

The hazards to consumers

Risk of injury from lacerations or cuts if the fan wheel in affected units fails and the operator or a bystander gets hit by ejected fragments.

The child safety cap of this product is not being fitted on properly, which may cause leakage of the product from the top of the bottle during transportation or agitation.

The hazards to consumers

The product is classified as corrosive, may cause severe skin burn or eye damage when contact with skin. The consumer is also be recommended not to breathe in any vapour or mist of the product.

Hot Water 135L Hotflo Gas Storage Tank Rinnai NG

Rinnai Australia is undertaking a voluntary national product safety recall on a small batch of gas storage water heaters manufactured during December 2022.

What is the hazard?

An internal gas connection may not be adequately secured. This may cause a small gas leak during operation which will stop the water heater from operating leaving it in a safe condition. Attempts by consumers at re-lighting the burner may result in a flame flash extending beyond the boundary of the access door which presents a risk of injury.

Kincrome Trolley Jacks Labelling Compliance

Due to a labelling concern we need to action a voluntary recall on a number of our Trolley Jacks, some of which have been supplied to customers.
This recall is due to the word ‘Ground’ missing from one of the labels on the lifting arm and although we do not believe that this is a product safety issue, a recall is necessary at this time to ensure that Kincrome meets the requirements of the Consumer Goods (Trolley Jacks) Safety Standard 2017.
The list of affected product SKU’s and batch codes is in the attached recall notice – action items are below.

Kincrome field team will be providing replacement stickers and reworking affected units over the next 2 weeks.

Why the product is recalled: The products were sold without the warning information that is required for products containing button/coin batteries. 

Hazard: There is a risk of choking, severe internal burn injuries or death to young children if they gain access to the button batteries and swallow or insert them. Consumers may be unaware that the product contains a button battery. 

Consumers should immediately place the product out of reach of children. 

Consumers should contact the place of purchase for a full refund or replacement of the product.

Due to a labelling concern, a safety recall on several LION Snatch Straps has been initiated.

Product purchased prior between 01/12/2017 and 30/06/2023 may not comply with the labelling requirements of the mandatory standard 'Consumer Goods (Motor Vehicle Recovery Straps) Safety Standard 2017'. The product could have incorrect labelling &/or missing instructions, which may result in misuse of the product.

Hazard: Incorrect use of a snatch strap could cause severe injury or even death.

Beaver Lever Blocks Model 3S (250kg and 500kg)

Supplied by Bunzl Brands and Operations Pty Ltd from 1 January 2019 to 19 August 2021. Affected batch numbers: BJT0201; BJT0207; BJT0208; BJT2878; BJT2879; BJT2880; BJT2881; BJT4451.

Defect: Ball Bearings could be missing from the bearing in the Top Hook Assembly, which could cause the top hook to dislodge while load is suspended.

Hazard: If the hook detaches and the load falls, there is the risk of serious injury to the user and bystanders.

What to do: Consumers should immediately stop using the product and check the batch number on the ID plate against the list of affected batch numbers. If the lever block is from one of the batches detailed above either take the product to the nearest Beaver Brands approved testing facility for testing or contact Beaver Brands to make arrangements to return the product for testing.

Product that passes testing will be returned at no cost. A refund or replacement will be provided for product that fails testing.

Product bearing a QC Passed sticker is not affected by this recall.

DEFECT:

The tail pipe and main body of the valve may come apart, this may cause the seal at this point to break and allow gas to escape when the valve to the gas cylinder is open.

HAZARD:

Risk of leaking gas igniting, leading to burns and/or a fire and/or explosion, which may result in serious injury or death.

In the interest of user safety, Makita Australia Pty Ltd is undertaking a safety recall of Makita Circular Saw model 5057KB forreplacement of Saw

Base Defect:

When cutting at a 45 degrees angle, the blade cover does not open fully. If it is forced open by the operator the blade cover may become stuck and expose the spinning blade.

Hazard:

An exposed blade during use poses a serious injury risk.What to do: Check model and serial number of your saw (see the illustration below ). If the model and serial number of your saw is within the affected range – stop using the saw immediately.

A product safety recall of the product below was advertised on28 January 2015. It is reproduced again to bring to the attention of consumers as requested by the ACCC.

Recall Information:

As a precaution, Mitre 10 is conducting a recall for this product sold exclusively in Mitre 10 and True Value Hardware stores nationallyprior to 28 January 2015.

Hazard:

Labelling on the ladder indicates that the Ladder complies with AS/NZS 1892.A test indicates that the ladder does not comply with that Australian Standard.

Defect description:

The ladder may not have the attributes required by the Australian Standard with which it purports to comply, including safety attributes.

What To Do:

We recommend that customers cease use of the ladder immediately and return it to their local Mitre 10 or True Value Hardware store for a full refund of the purchase price. A similar ladder sold after the above date with a yellow coloured top and a different barcode is not the subject of the recall and should not be returned.
